Trans Makeover
About us
In 2020, Trans Makeover was officially registered with the Chamber of Commerce, along with its sister company, Trans Academy, marking the beginning of their journey. Lux, the founder, is a genderfluid individual whose expression shifts between tomboy styles and classy, ladylike outfits, reflecting the fluid nature of gender in her life. During her younger years, she considered transitioning, but eventually realized that she could fully express herself as both their masculinity and femininity.
Raised as a Jehovah’s Witness in a strict, gender-conforming environment, Lux struggled with the rigid expectations and the anti-LGBTQ+ atmosphere. Choosing her own path, she left her family behind, changed her last name, and sought to create a space where people could explore their gender identity freely.
Driven by her personal experiences, Lux created services that support individuals in various stages of their gender exploration and identity journey. This commitment to gender fluidity, non-binary, and transgender individuals is present in all aspects of her work. From her Spring/Summer 2022 Fashion Week collection, featured by Vogue, to her later studies to become a coach and therapist through her practice Coaching by Lux, she focuses on helping people, particularly those in the LGBTQIA+ community, navigate life’s challenges.
Accompanying her in these endeavors is her life partner, Freya, a trans woman who plays a vital role in TransMakeover. Freya, having studied at the Dutch School of Photography, is often present during the makeovers, capturing the transformation through her photography skills.
